Howdy Everyone. Sam Here.
Was it really September of 2010 that I wrote last??? I guess 'busy' isn't much of an excuse after a while.
There has been, as one might expect in more than a year, a lot going on. New bikes and lots of riding (though not enough.) D2R2 was, as always, a blast. We went out to Interbike and were front and center in the Kryptonite booth. Those are some really great folks and right here in Massachusetts. We've had hurricanes, freak early snow storms, even freakier warm, snowless winter and a whole bunch of other stuff.
We have decided to focus our chi at home this year and not attend NAHBS in Sacramento. I hate missing a party and NAHBS is a great party. I have met some of the nicest people and seen some of the most inspiring bicycles there. Any of you who are going, please try to squeeze in a little extra fun for me.
Going back a bit before more current events, Interbike was good to us on so many fronts and was super fun. We got to build some new friends, dealers and component suppliers as well as catch up with folks we have known and worked with for a while.
I got to spend some lovely time with my friends Janine and Scott (and cuter than heck new son, Braden)Fitzgerald of Fitzgerald's Bicycles newly moved to Victor, Idaho (on the left side of Teton Pass.)Those guys run a great shop and do a ton in their community.
So this is how Interbike links to current events: Paved and Bike magazines were in Vegas. I knew they put out great publications but it was such a joy to meet the crew in person. No surprise, they are all really nice, way into bikes and supportive of hand builders. They offered a photo shoot and interview and one of the pictures from that shoot was just posted on their facebook page .
I'm itchin' to get back into the shop so will sign off for now. Perhaps I'll pretty this up with pictures a bit later. I promise to to be better at writing. No, really. Be well and Happy Riding!
